A soft, sad, but hopeful woman with a peace dove over her third eye.  Enough said.  I dont want to start ranting about the stupidity of Earthlings continually killing each other.

TO THE MOON AND BACK

TO THE MOON AND BACK, I love you!

This picture started when I wanted to create a bird with bright colors and flowing lines.  The lines indicate the flying motion of the bird as it ascends in the sky.  I created the bird, then played around searching for the right background.  I liked the moon and circles for the context of ascension.  Then I realized that the title of the picture should be TO THE MOON AND BACK.  What a fun concept.

The colors are rich and harmonious. I made the sky a deep, deep blue, one of my favorite colors.  Purple and medium blue light circles appeared as I played with shape and color.  Then green trees were added to indicate elevation from solid ground, ascension to heaven via feelings of love.

Created April,2022.  Digital, archival prints available from Saatchi.  Similar acrylic painting may be commissioned, message me. lunazure101@gmail.com

This is an inspiring picture that will spark a bit of delight when you hang it on a wall.  Or it would make a great gift for a loved one.

Jitterbug Skull

digital creation for archival prints and perhaps
a study for a real life painting

HIBISCUS MOON

digital image for archival prints
perhaps a study for an acrylic painting

Two digital paintings here.  The moon picture is very serene and the skull picture is exciting.  Sympathetic vs parasympathetic nervous and hormone systems, for any anatomy and physiology nerds out there.

I want to go on a moon light sail on gently waving waters.  Lull me off to dream land.  Escape the bull shit storms coming from our media fear tubes.

But, reality beacons, the skull reminds us that life is short.

The painterly style of the skull is a newish style of painting for me.  I follow my muse.  That bitch, she says, "You like sinuous lines, like art nouveau, paint gently curving lines."  Then she gets bored and wants something new.  "Paint jaggedly lines, jutting about, exciting energy lines."  OK, that sounds like fun.  Call it Jitterbug style.  So I paint,  mostly doing photoshop, I paint pictures with a variety of brush styles.  A bit of art nouveau, some impressionism, some flat planes, realism, surrealism, what ever, all mixed  together in the same picture.    THEY, you know who they are,  the "experts" who say "find your style and stick to it".  How boring is that?

OK, that is enough rattling about for me, I will sign off now.

Have a wonderful day.  I think that I will meditate on this hibiscus moon light sail.  Do some gardening, the weather is sunny. Take a break from distressing reality.

VAN GOGH EYE

VAN GOGH EYE

VAN GOGH EYE. Ya gotta love Van Gogh. He has been famous since several years after he died. He is having a media storm at this time. There is an immersive experience of his work traveling the world of museums. And, he is all over the web.
When I saw his work in the Louvre, I was stunned by the beauty and layers of meaning of his pictures.
The picture here, is related to a recent work that I did called, "Triple Skull". I tossed the idea of merged heads around in my skull. I wanted to do Van Gogh.
"Starry Starry Night", is in the back ground and a selfie that he painted has morphed into conjoined heads. Sorry, Vincent, my muse made me do it.
What does it mean? Maybe, it is whimsical nonsense. Or, maybe, that penetrating third eye symbolizes that his third eye chakra was open and he saw energies. So he painted energies.

Diana, Greek Goddess, Jeweled

When I was in the Louvre, I was gobsmacked to see this statue. Diana has always fascinated me. She brings home the bacon, I mean venison.  I found a picture of her on the web and harvested it for digital art.  I worked it up over a period of months, leaving her and coming back again.  As is my habit, I digitally brushed over the entire profile.  Usually, I will change the arrangements of the reference photo.  Sometimes I cut off limbs and rearrange them. This profile is so beautiful that I did not even change any proportions.

In another file, I had a desire to create some jewelry and worked, played, with beautiful stones.  I put the two files together and created a simple frame version and a jeweled framed version.

I have been creating in photoshop since the late 90's, so have many files.  Recently I developed a system of organization that is working well.  The file names are six digit dates, with the year listed first, followed by a short description.  This info might be helpful to help you manage files.

PASSION FLOWER

Passion Woman

Passion Flower, genus passifloraceae, grows almost all over the world. It grows wild here, in Washington Parish, Louisiana.  I am delighted when I find it blooming and fruiting on a tangled vine.  The name "passion" refers to the passion of Christ in Christian mythology.

The flower is complicated.  I had to study the multiple layered parts in order to create these pictures.  It is not like a simple daisy that can be painted with ten quick brushstrokes.  I enjoyed learning about the unusual parts and creating these pictures.

Passion flower is a favorite of pollinators, bees and hummingbirds.  Seeing hummingbirds flying around and sipping on the flowers makes my day.  The leaves and roots have a long history of  medicinal usage for anxiety and sleep.  It makes a delicious fruit.

Inspiration for the woman's face is Audrey Hepburn, one of the most elegant women of all times.

Prints may be ordered from Saatchi on line.
