Here I have posted several pictures of women.  Some are recent, some from a few years past.  Some, I may have posted previously.

I wonder why I create so many pictures of women?  The easy answer is that I just want to paint women.  But there must be more to it than that.  The answer is not easy to formulate.  I am a woman, do I paint the idealized woman that I want to be?  Ummm, I guess that is it.  Being feminine is deeply interesting.  I am exploring fascinating territory.

Some artist paint their sorrows.  Picasso's  "Guernica", is one of my favorite pictures.  It is devastating, intense suffering is portrayed.  There is no attempt to show the bright side of life.  There was no bright side of life in Spain during that war.

I am, unfortunately well acquainted with suffering.  But, I do not want to paint pain.  Maybe, making art, for me is escapist, a denial of the desperate low points of life.  I want beauty, joy, spiritual ascendance.  So, I create pictures of what I want.

ELISE (220707)

close up

 ELISE (#220707)

I am a woman with spiritual leanings.  I create beautiful women with layers of meaning.  The figures are not only beautiful in body, but I also hope to convey a depth of spirit.  I want to show my idealistic dreams of feminine existence, of being an excellent female earthling.

The background pattern, with a network of energetic lines forming circles, relates to the interconnectedness of everything in the universe.  The figure is impressionistic style, the head dress is rather art deco, and the egrets are realistic.  I like a mixture of styles.

This image was created in photoshop, a program that I have been using since the late 90's.  The art is available as a fine art print on Saatchi Art.  If you would like to commission a giclee, or an NFT, or an acrylic painting then message me.  lunazure101@gmail.com

The colors are rich and harmonious.  It will make a dramatic accent piece in your home.  I think that it will give you inspiration and pleasure for many years.

I dont know for sure if praying works or not, I think that it does effect events, but I am not sure. I do know that when things get really bad, praying makes me feel a bit better.

A soft, sad, but hopeful woman with a peace dove over her third eye.  Enough said.  I dont want to start ranting about the stupidity of Earthlings continually killing each other.

POMONA

POMONA
digital, archival prints

close up, head shot

Pomona is the Roman Goddess of fruitful abundance.

I named my vegetable garden after her.  The garden is 22'x22', rather small.  It is organic and I tend it with hand tools.  The recent harvest was abundant for the size of the garden.

The inspiration and reference for this digital painting is an ancient Roman statue.  The statue is approximately 1300 years old.  Prior to this Roman conception, the Greek Goddess Demeter had similar characteristics.  Prior to the Greeks the Sumerians named their goddess of agriculture Nibada.

I enjoy feeling a part of a stream of creations that have been developing for many centuries.

I hope she will inspire you to be abundant in whatever field you endeavor to cultivate.

Prints may be ordered from Saatchi Art online:
